SKF Company was set up in 1907 in Sweden. In 1910, the company had 325 employees, established more branches in England and then expanded its work on many countries. From 1912 to 1930, SKF opened representative offices in 32 countries, had more than 12,000 staffs with 12 large scale production facilities around the world.

CEO of SKF is the founder of Volvo brand in 1926. Initially, Volvo Company operated as a subsidiary company of SKF. SKF used one brand of Volvo company, AB Volvo which means “movement” in Latin.

In the 1970s, SKF started a program to automate the production process in Europe. This is a strategic project to make an automatic production system which is used at night to increase productivity and quality of products.

Nowadays, SKF is biggest bearing manufacturer with 44,000 employees, 100 production facilities in 70 countries. SKF’s turnover in 2005 is 285 million USD. SKF Group consists of 150 subsidiary companies produce bearings and bearings’ spare parts, lubrication system, etc.
